NOTD:Katy Perry shatter

Under the shatter nail polish, I applied 2 coats of Sephora by OPI's It's bouquet with me. I ended up not liking the shatter nail polish as much as I anticipated on liking it. I honestly think it's only appropriate for Halloween, but it does what it claimed to do. It crackled within 30 seconds and dries fast. It looks much better with a top coat. With one coat of the shatter nail polish, it leaves a cheetah print and with two coats, it leaves a more defined crackle, like in the picture above.

have a great weekend everyone

Sephora by OPI-metro chic

Metro chic is a taup-ey, muddy color, with a splash of purple. Unfortunately, the formula is quite streaky and it usually takes quite a few coats (3-4) to get it to an opaque shade. This is my go-to nail polish when I paint my nails. It's very flattering on most skin tones. I will be repurchasing this very soon!

Linzer Cookies

Since I've been at school for the past 5 months, I have missed baking cookies and other desserts. Linzer cookies are great with tea. This is my favorite recipe.

Midday Appetite

I always have cravings between meals and this is one of my favorite snacks: caprese! This is a simple dish with only a few ingredients.

2 medium tomatoes
1 lb fresh mozerella
basil leaves
extra-virgin olive oil
balsamic vinaigrette

1. Slice tomatoes into 1/4 in. thick slices
2. Slice mozerella into 1/4 in. thick slives
3. Top with basil leaves
4. Splash extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette to taste
5. Add coarse salt and pepper

To A New Year! 2011!

Happy new year, everyone! I have been an awful blogger lately, but since it's the beginning of the new year, one of my resolutions is to post at least once a week! YAY!
